Primary objective

The Assistant Director Program and Projects Coordination will support the Director to lead the review, design and implementation of universal

programs and associated projects and manage contracts to support service improvement initiatives for the branch. Ensure alignment with the

professional practice and intake Team Operating Model and the SWIPS matrix organisational design. Use feedback, data and evidence in determining

program and project improvement priorities. Work with internal and external branch and department stakeholders and service providers to ensure

that programs are established and transition to business as usual across the branch and that business processes and service improvement initiatives

maintain coherence with branch organisational design and department key objectives.

Context statement

Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services (SWIPS) is part of Inclusion and Engagement Services, which provides differentiated support

services to reform inclusion and improve engagement and access to learning for children, students and communities. SWIPS provides advice, guidance

and support to clients and stakeholders to ensure all children and students are welcomed into an inclusive learning environment and are able to engage

effectively with education and learn to their full potential.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Develop a coordinated approach to supporting the establishment and implementation of programs and projects that support the branch and

schools to implement universal wellbeing and inclusion programs.

2. Manage programs and projects through project management, change management, delivery, adaptability evaluation and monitoring complex

initiatives in collaboration with other parts of the department and schools.

3. Lead management of effective collaboration with other department and external stakeholders and contractors to ensure change initiatives align

with department systems and processes.

4. Lead organisational change across various service and business improvement projects within Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and

Services

  1. Undertake evaluation of changes and prepare impact analyses and risk mitigation strategies, capture data and measure success including superior

written communication skills to support briefings, reports and other correspondence.

6. Identify opportunities and provide expertise to build resilience to change across the branch.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience in program coordination, project and contract management including procurement, implementation, and change

management leadership.

2. Demonstrated knowledge in implementing changes to business processes, technologies, systems, and programs to address identified needs and

maximise educational outcomes for students.

3. Demonstrated exceptional analytical skills, including the ability to interpret, monitor and analyse data and produce high-level performance reports.

  1. Highly developed team and leadership skills that contribute to a positive workplace culture that encourages excellence including the ability to be

innovative, collaborative, resilient and adaptable.

5. High level written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating with others to achieve common objectives.

6. Proven ability to establish and sustain productive working relationships and provide advice to colleagues and stakeholders.

7. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and cross-cultural understanding skill with the ability to interact effectively with a broad range of internal

and external stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Desirable

1. Post graduate qualification or other formal training in a discipline relevant to the position.
