JBS Australia, part of the global JBS business, is the largest and most respected meat and food processor in Australia with a strong portfolio of leading beef, lamb, pork, salmon and value-added products. Our Northern division operates five beef processing plants across Queensland and Northern NSW, producing more than 400,000 tonnes of beef products every year.

Located in Ipswich in South East Queensland, the JBS Dinmore Plant is the largest beef processing facility in the southern hemisphere. The plant employs approximately 2,000 team members with a processing capacity of 3,400 head of cattle per day.

About the Role

The JBS Dinmore HR Team is currently recruiting an experienced HR generalist to join the team in a full-time capacity (morning shift; 4.30am start time). Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, this role is ideal for any HR professionals looking to further develop their career in a challenging, complex and fast paced food manufacturing environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing HR advice, coaching and support to production managers, supervisors and employees
  • Maintaining adequate manning levels for the business
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Leading investigations and performance management processes
  • Managing trends in attendance, absenteeism and turnover
  • Ensuring and supporting positive employee relations
  • Updating and maintaining HR records (Success Factors HRIS)
  • Ensuring the safety of all employees and abiding by WH&S legislation

About You

  • HR qualifications advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with and the ability to have difficult conversations
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to influence and perseverance to improve processes
  • Ability to cultivate professional working relationships at all levels of the business
  • Must hold Australian working rights
  • Intermediate computer skills specifically within MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment
