Safemaster Safety Products is a leading Western Australian company providing manufacturing, inspection and specialist height safety installations to commercial and industrial buildings throughout Australia. Our head office is currently located in Canning Vale with our sister company, Accent Safety Solutions, located in Melbourne. All manufacturing is done onsite at our factory in Canning Vale.

The Role

Due to sustained long term growth, we have a fantastic, newly created opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our expanding supportive finance team in our Canning Vale office. This position will play a key function in the team and will quickly mature to higher level duties to support the business.

This role is currently a blend between processing transactional work in MYOB & Xero & HR, as well as end of month accounting requirements including:

  • Processing day to day transactional work and reporting including accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconcilliations
  • End of month reporting, including reconciliations and general journals
  • Intercompany transaction reconciliations
  • Investigation of transactional queries
  • Management of all HR functions including recruitment & on-boarding of new staff members
  • Ad-hoc reporting and duties as required

About you

You will have 5 years plus experience in an accounting or HR-focused role with an emphasis on accounts receivable. Your strong attention to detail, accuracy and excellent time management will set you up for success. Other requirements are:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MYOB & Xero
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Highly confidential, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Ability to work 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. This is NOT a hybrid or work at home role due to the fast paced nature of the business
