Your Opportunity

Primero are looking for an Junior Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Team in Osborne Park.

The successful candidate will provide support to our Senior Account with day-to-day accounting and administrative tasks. Additional duties include will assisting in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.

Your Key Responsibilities

Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including processing Bank Account transactions, monitor outstanding debtor balances and follow up on overdue accounts.

• Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register
• Manage and reconcile Financial Arrangements.
• Process various journals, including project, recovery, and general ledger journals.
• Process AR and AP Invoices as required.
• Assistance with the End-of-month process for Primero Finance.
• Assistance with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Assistance with Balance Sheet reconciliation
• Assistance with Intercompany accounting, recharges and balances.
• Assistance with consolidated financial reporting to the group and within Primero, including any required eliminations.
• Assistance with preparation of BAS lodgements
• Liaise with internal departments and other entities within the group as needed.
• Additional Duties: perform any other duties as required.

What You 'Can Do'

• Possession of a postgraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
• Working towards CA/CPA qualification will be well regarded.
• Experience in resource engineering and construction industry or similar desirable.
• Demonstrated understanding of core accounting principles and compliance with Australian financial regulations.
• Minimum of one year's experience working as an Accountant
• Confident communicator with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with systems D365 Finance and Operations is desirable.
• Experience with using Power BI or other self-service business intelligence tool is desirable.
• Eager to learn and grow, with an interest in supporting broader financial projects.
