The business specialises in collecting, treating and disposing of medical, clinical, pharmaceutical and industrial waste. Clients include hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturers, aged-care providers, and industrial companies that produce waste requiring secure and compliant disposal. The organisation is experiencing strong growth in Victoria and offers a supportive, small-team environment where results are recognised and rewarded.

Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

This position blends new business development with key account management. You will grow the customer base and look after existing clients by:

  • Winning new business by following proven sales practices across key target markets such as hospitals, laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturers, aged-care providers, and industrial companies.
  • Managing and expanding existing client relationships, ensuring excellent service, resolving issues quickly, and identifying opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Meeting on-site with customers to understand their needs and provide easy-to-understand solutions for the safe collection and disposal of regulated waste.
  • Preparing tailored proposals, quotes, and service agreements, and negotiating terms to close deals.
  • Collaborating with operations and compliance teams to ensure seamless onboarding and ongoing service delivery.
  • Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to uncover growth opportunities and inform strategy.
  • Maintaining accurate sales pipelines and activity records within the CRM system.
  • Representing the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build brand presence and generate leads.

About You

  • Minimum 2 years of outbound B2B sales experience from any industry and at least 3 years in customer service.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to close deals.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, comfortable with cold calling and door knocking to create new opportunities.
  • High attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and solution-focused thinking.
  • Australian citizenship is essential.
  • Experience in waste management, healthcare, or related industries is an advantage but not required.
