We are looking for premium execution. Must be skilled in fermented dough for focaccia and Pizza - We have a Moretti Forni Deck Oven and are looking to make Square Tray Pizzas.

About Us

IMAGINATIONATION is seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead the café at our brand-new, premium children's entertainment and play centre at Chadstone Shopping Centre.

Our café will deliver to the highest quality — featuring house-baked focaccia sandwiches, a combo of Roman/ Detroit-style square tray pizzas made, fresh açaí bowls, smoothies, and baked treats crafted with care and creativity.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for a chef who loves simple, high-quality food and wants to help shape a brand-new venue from the ground up. You'll oversee all aspects of kitchen operations — from prep and service flow to food safety and team development — ensuring every dish is consistent, beautiful, and delicious.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily kitchen operations and maintain high culinary standards.
  • Bake exceptional focaccia and Roman/Detroit-style pizzas using fermented doughs.
  • Manage ordering, prep schedules, and supplier relationships.
  • Uphold allergen-free and food safety compliance (IMAGINATIONATION is a nut-free venue).
  • Train, motivate, and support kitchen staff.
  • Collaborate on menu innovation and seasonal updates.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous in a quality café or casual-premium venue.
  • Strong bread, dough, and pizza-making skills.
  • Organised, calm, and detail-oriented — thrives in a structured environment.
  • A genuine passion for great ingredients and approachable, beautiful food.
  • Understanding of allergen management and food safety practices.
