About the Role

As Head Chef, you'll oversee all kitchen operations, from menu development and food preparation to stock control and staff supervision. This is a hands-on role in a busy café environment, perfect for someone with creativity, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering consistent, high-quality food.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily kitchen operations and lead a small team
  • Create and deliver a seasonal café menu with a focus on fresh, quality ingredients
  • Maintain high standards of food presentation, hygiene, and safety
  • Manage stock, ordering, and cost control
  • Train, motivate, and support kitchen staff
  • Work closely with management to ensure smooth service

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a café/restaurant environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Creativity and passion
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Flexibility to work weekends and peak periods
  • Australian working rights required (no visa applications)
  • References from previous roles will be required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
