About the role
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services and forming part of the Senior Management Team, you will be given the opportunity to drive innovative technology solutions, service improvement, and customer centricity across the entire workforce.
This role will work collaboratively as part of the organisation's Leadership Team to provide high-level strategic thinking, foresight, and decision-making across the organisation across the areas of, Information Technology, Records Management and Telecommunications.
Qualities of leadership, a capacity for management and an ability to organise resources will be key attributes required. These skills will be complemented by a record of innovation and performance, a suitable level of experience and an outstanding record of success.
About you.
As our IT Manager, you will be responsible for the management, development, and continuous improvement of the Council's IT systems and networks. You'll ensure our technology is secure, reliable, and meets the needs of staff, elected officials, and the community we serve.
You'll lead a small but skilled team and be the key liaison between IT and other departments, helping to shape our digital future.
The ideal candidate will bring a;
· Strong understanding of IT networks and how they function in a modern, multi-site environment
· Proven experience managing and maintaining Microsoft 365 environments
· Familiarity with CIVICA systems, or the ability to quickly learn and support integrated council platforms
· Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
· The ability to manage projects, support users, and guide IT strategy in a public sector setting
You will bring a strong understanding of IT networks in a multi-site environment, experience in managing and maintaining Microsoft 365 environments, and familiarity with CIVICA systems or similar systems that automates internal processes and delivers a better experience for the community.
