*What are we looking for?*
Are you a experienced people leader who is looking to grow a hardworking team? The Billing and Settlements Team Leader is responsible for managing a experienced team of Settlement Coordinators, responsible for getting clients their settlement monies in the shortest possible timeframe.
Responsibilities of the role include
- Managing the day to day functions and overall performance of a high functioning team.
- Actively contributing to staff development by providing a collaborative approach to coaching, training and mentoring.
- Accurately monitoring, calculating and distributing clients settlement monies with priority
- Ensuring that the team are actively adhering to business Service Level Agreement's (SLA) to achieve organisational outcomes
- Provides leadership and supervision to the Settlements Coordinators to ensure that best possible outcomes are achieved
- Encourages a proactive approach to the post settlement process, focused on minimising the time that it takes to get clients their settlement monies
- Forecasting monthly cashflow
- Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal business partners, focused on finding solutions to ensure best possible outcomes.
- Actively contributes to the enhancement of processes and procedures
- Ensures that all governance, compliance and control measures are adhered to for all billed and settled matters.
- Looks for opportunity to mitigate financial risk for both the client and then business.
- Corresponds with clients, statutory bodies, other legal firms & insurers.
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of Slater + Gordon legal and financial systems to accurately manage the post
*What will you bring?*
This role will ideally suit a strong people leader with experience in legal, retail banking or an operations role. Our ideal candidate will bring the following skills and attributes to the role
- Advances people management skills
- Experience establishing and maintaining daily rhythms to ensure delivery of business outcomes
- Strong and consultative communication and people skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities while providing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong problem solving skills
- Experience dealing with complex numerical analysis
- Team player who also has the ability to work without supervision, takes initiative and maintains confidentiality
- Competent with the MS Office suite
- Quality - the ability to manage a team's accuracy in processing outputs
- Timeliness - managing a team's ability to complete work within a set timeframe
