Position Title: Business Development Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Overview:
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identify, developing and managing relationships with clients in our commercial solar, battery energy storage (BESS), organisation in Australia. You will work closely with the General Manager, Project Managers and Engineering team to manage and grow our business, including bid management, pipeline management, and sales. This is a key position that requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive results.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients to drive revenue growth and meet business targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop effective sales strategies to win new clients and expand our market share.
- Work closely with the GM to manage bid and proposal development activities, ensuring that proposals are high-quality, compelling, and delivered on time.
- Manage your own pipeline process, ensuring that opportunities are tracked and effectively prioritised.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis of business unit performance, including revenue, pipeline, and sales metrics.
- Manage your sales process, including lead generation, prospecting, and negotiating contracts.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing strategies and materials to support business development activities.
- Assist in managing the business budget and financial performance, including revenue forecasting, expense management, and P&L reporting.
- Ensure that all client interactions and engagements are aligned with the company's values and standards of excellence.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and identify opportunities to incorporate these into our business development strategies.
Key Role Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role in the renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of the commercial solar and energy storage, industry in Australia.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective business development strategies, and lead and manage a team to achieve sales targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
- Strong financial management skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
