Connect APAC are delighted to partner with a leading, Australian FMCG Organisation in their search for a Head of Sales. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this position is responsible for leading the national sales function across a diverse range of channels, including Grocery, Pharmacy, Petrol/Convenience, and Foodservice. The successful candidate will drive revenue growth, reinforce customer and supplier relationships, and provide strong leadership to a high-performing sales team operating in a dynamic and competitive environment. The opportunity would be ideal for an existing Head of Sales/National Sales Manager or even an ambitious Customer Director looking to take the next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with business and supplier objectives.
  • Drive growth across all channels, ensuring tailored approaches for each channel and brand.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a national sales team to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build capability through training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders across all channels.
  • Negotiate major contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure excellence in execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Play a lead role in supplier partner relationships.
  • Own the sales budget.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Category and Supply Chain to ensure alignment and profitability.
  • Analyse sales data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.

Key Requirements:

  • FMCG/Consumer Goods experience essential.
  • Experience of operating at a Head of Sales/Head of Customer/Senior Business Manager level with established Consumer Goods organisations.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of channels including; Grocery, Pharmacy, Food Service and Alternate Channels.
  • Ability to collaborate and lead projects cross functionally with departments including; Category, Supply Chain, Finance and Marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead an extensive team of National Account Managers.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering commercial results.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and strong analytical capabilities.
