Head Chef – Authentic Thai Restaurant

Location: Melbourne CBD

Work Type: Full Time

Monday to Friday work,7:30-16:00 daily.

Are you passionate about Japanese's cuisine and ready to lead a kitchen team? We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to delivering authentic flavours with a modern twist.

About the Role:

As Head Chef, you will take full ownership of the kitchen operations, menu development, and team leadership. You will bring creativity, consistency, and excellence to every plate, maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and service. The role will be starting in around 8 weeks time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and execute an authentic and innovative Thai menu
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a dedicated kitchen team
  • Manage inventory, supplier relationships, and food costs effectively
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ensure a high-quality dining experience for every guest
  • Collaborate with management on menu updates and seasonal specials

About You:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in japanese or Asian cuisine, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Deep knowledge of traditional ingredients, techniques, and flavours
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Passionate, creative, and committed to excellence
  • Relevant culinary qualifications and food safety certification preferred
