About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team based in Narrabri. This is a full-time role offering a mix of workshop and field service work, supporting a modern fleet across multiple project sites.

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
- Perform field service work and emergency breakdown support on-site
- Rebuild components and conduct mechanical inspections
- Maintain accurate records using electronic job and maintenance systems
- Manage parts and consumables
- Liaise with supervisors and clients to schedule work and ensure timelines are met
- Maintain safety standards, tools, and workspaces
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Proven experience with heavy diesel equipment, plant or fleet maintenance
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Current Class C driver's licence (HR licence preferred)
- Willingness to travel to worksites as required
- Excellent communication and time management skills
Desirable (Advantageous):
- Civil construction or mining industry experience
- High-Risk Work Licences (EWP, dogging, etc.)
- Relevant RII qualifications (e.g., RIIEX, RIIWHS)
- Experience using CMMS or digital maintenance systems
