About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team based in Narrabri. This is a full-time role offering a mix of workshop and field service work, supporting a modern fleet across multiple project sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems
  • Conduct scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Perform field service work and emergency breakdown support on-site
  • Rebuild components and conduct mechanical inspections
  • Maintain accurate records using electronic job and maintenance systems
  • Manage parts and consumables
  • Liaise with supervisors and clients to schedule work and ensure timelines are met
  • Maintain safety standards, tools, and workspaces

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
  • Proven experience with heavy diesel equipment, plant or fleet maintenance
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Current Class C driver's licence (HR licence preferred)
  • Willingness to travel to worksites as required
  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Desirable (Advantageous):

  • Civil construction or mining industry experience
  • High-Risk Work Licences (EWP, dogging, etc.)
  • Relevant RII qualifications (e.g., RIIEX, RIIWHS)
  • Experience using CMMS or digital maintenance systems
