Definitive Contracting is an Australian start-up, specialising in full field service, breakdowns and in-field repairs for all earth-moving plant equipment. The Director has more than 25 years experience working with a wide range of plant equipment and brands including Komatsu, Cat, Hitachi, Volvo, Kubota and Hyundai. We have exceeded our business projections and are now in a position to expand our team.
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and qualified Plant Mechanic, an Auto Electrician, a Fitter and a Boilermaker to join our team in Sydney.
The Diesel Mechanic Role
You will work on-site with a range of clients to provide first class repairs and preventative maintenance for plant equipment. This includes;
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting services.
- Performance reports, complete with engine and hydraulic tune ups.
- Maintenance planning.
- Repairs and replacement of all major machinery components.
Requirements
You should have extensive experience in;
- Diagnosing, servicing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems on earth moving/plant equipment.
- HR License preferred not essential.
- You should have worked with all the major brands on a variety of equipment including loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, dump trucks, water trucks, surface miners etc.
- Valid Australian C Class License
- Construction White Card
- Australian or equivalent Trade certificate - Heavy Plant/Diesel Mechanic
The Auto Electrician Role
You will work on-site with a range of clients to install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and electronic components in heavy vehicle plant equipment.
Requirements
You should have extensive experience in;
- Auto electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Knowledge of diagnostics tools for vehicle electrical and electronics
- Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics and circuit diagrams
- Ability to carry out/repair electrical wiring in a range of vehicles
- Strong manual skills and precision when carrying out repair and testing
- Problem-solving skills
- Valid Australian C Class License
- Construction White Card
- Australian or equivalent Trade certificate - Cert III Automotive Electrical Technology | Aircon licence
The Fitter Role
In the role of a mechanical fitter you will be responsible for assembling machine parts and installing, maintaining and repairing plants and equipment.
Requirements
You should have extensive experience in and/or hold the following qualifications or licences;
- Australian or equivalent Trade certificate
- Valid Australian C Class License
- Problem-solving skills
- Construction White Card
- Demonstrated commitment to safety
- HR License preferred not essential
- You should have worked with all the major brands on a variety of equipment including loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, dump trucks, water trucks, surface miners etc
- Diagnosing, servicing and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems on earth moving/plant equipment
The Boilermaker Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Boilermaker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing metal structures and equipment, primarily in industrial and construction settings. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their craft and enjoys working in a hands-on, fast paced environment.
Requirements
- Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or relevant certification
- Proven experience in metal fabrication and welding
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid Australian C Class License
- Construction White Card

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrician, Mechanical Fitter and Boilermaker who will represent our company and brand on major projects. The right person for our company for each role will have a strong work ethic, be a conscientious, reliable person and have an accountable, detailed approach to their work and have the ability to work as part of a team. You will naturally go over and above expectations every time through your awesome attitude, logical thinking and your sharp technical skills.
This is a casual position with the potential to transition to full-time for the right candidate paying up to $90ph.
We are also interested to hear from apprentices with the right skill set and attitude.
