About the role

We're seeking an experienced Workshop Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Coalroc Contractors' in Mudgee at Glencores Ulan West mine NSW. This is a full-time position Monday through Thursday that will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our heavy machinery and equipment used in our mining operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain a range of underground mining equipment including LHD'S, man transporters and QDS equipment.
  • Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Fabricate and assemble parts and components as required
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior members of the workshop team
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities

What we're looking for

  • Significant experience as a Workshop Mechanical Fitter, ideally within a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or a related discipline (DES competency)
  • Excellent technical skills with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of mining equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management
