Public Skills Australia (PSA) has been appointed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) as one of 10 Jobs and Skills Councils. PSA works with employer and employee representatives from the Public Safety and Government industry-sectors – Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Correctional Services, Defence, and all levels of Government – to ensure Australia's vocational education and training (VET) system delivers better outcomes for learners and employers. A primary function of PSA is to provide workforce planning, industry intelligence and training product development in support of industry needs and government priorities.
The Office of the CEO (OCEO) Administration Officer will provide high-level support to the CEO and Executive Advisor, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. This role is critical in managing complex diaries, travel, and high-level correspondence, as well as supporting governance functions such as Board inductions, briefings, and ministerial communications.
The position is accountable to the Executive Adviser and will:
• provide executive-level support to the CEO and Executive Advisor
• coordinate complex diaries, meetings, and travel arrangements
• manage confidential correspondence and documentation
• support Board and Committee processes, including induction and reporting
• prepare high-quality documents, briefs, minutes and presentations.
We are seeking applicants with proven experience in executive or senior management administration support. The successful applicant should have high-level organisational and time management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, high level of discretion, reliability, professionalism and attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships including the ability to proactively and persistently resolve issues as they arise. They should demonstrate a high level of assertive communication, being able to rebuff requests firmly, while remaining professional. They should further have the ability to work with a sense of urgency and anticipate internal/external stakeholder expectations.
