About the Role

The Friends' School is seeking a highly organised and motivated Administration and Compliance Coordinator to join our Friends' Early Learning team. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, has a keen eye for detail, and enjoys supporting the operational and compliance functions of a high-quality Early Learning Service.

Reporting to the Director – Friends' Early Learning, you will provide critical support in administration, compliance, enrolments, financial operations, and team coordination, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.

This is a permanent part-time position (20 hours per week), with flexibility required to support the operational needs of the Centre.

Key Focus Areas

  • Support the day-to-day operations of Friends' Early Learning, including administration of the Child Care Management System (CCMS) and associated centre databases.
  • Assist with enrolments, centre tours, orientation visits, waiting lists, and maintenance of enrolment records.
  • Provide regulatory, compliance, and financial administration support, including budget management, reporting, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Maintain effective communication with families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Director in rostering, payroll coordination, and staff management, including relief staffing, leave requests, and RDO scheduling.
  • Contribute to compliance with child safeguarding and mandatory reporting processes, ensuring a safe environment for children, families, and staff.
  • Coordinate centre communications, newsletters, and community updates.
  • Support staff professional development, project management, and additional administrative tasks as required.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

  • Demonstrated understanding of the 10 National Child Safe Standards.
  • High-level skills in administration, financial management, and database systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Desirable qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standard, and early childhood regulations is advantageous.
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People registration (employment) and a recent National Police Check (less than 6 months old).
