At Schréder, we've been illuminating cities, industries, and communities for over a century. As pioneers in smart, sustainable lighting, our technology powers safer streets, efficient infrastructure, and vibrant public spaces in more than 35 countries.
With sustainability at the heart of everything we do, we're helping the world transition to smarter, greener urban ecosystems—reducing energy use, cutting carbon emissions, and protecting what matters most.
Be part of our mission to transform how the world lights up—creating solutions that strengthen communities, support the planet, and shape the future of intelligent lighting.
Job DescriptionWe're seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to lead our growth in Western Australia's commercial and infrastructure lighting market. This is more than just a sales role—it's an opportunity to make a real impact by shaping our presence in a rapidly growing region, backed by a respected national brand.
You'll work directly with engineers, architects, end-users, and project stakeholders, supported by a dedicated in-house team of lighting designers, engineers, and technical specialists. This is a truly collaborative environment where cross-functional support is not just available—it's embedded into how we work.
We're not looking for lead generators. We're looking for closers and go-getters—professionals who can take ownership of opportunities, navigate complex sales cycles, and deliver real value to clients. If you thrive on building relationships, solving problems, and seeing a project through from pitch to completion, you'll fit right in.
With a strong national presence and proven capability, we're now ready to scale further in WA—and this role will be shaped to match the strengths and ambitions of the right person.
QualificationsMust have 3+ years' experience in the Lighting industry or electrical
Demonstrated ability to win complex, high-value projects and manage multiple stakeholders through the sales cycle.
Experience dealing with both technical and non-technical people, such as architects, engineers, contractors, councils, or developers.
Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and proposal documentation.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of CRM systems and ability to manage a structured sales pipeline.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred, but not essential).
Must have full working rights in Australia (no restriction)
Key Responsibilities:
Drive business development across WA by securing commercial, public, and infrastructure lighting projects - with a strong focus on Roadway, Sports and large-scale developments.
Manage the full sales lifecycle: prospecting, client engagement, solution development, quoting, closing, and post-sale follow-up.
Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including engineers, architects, consultants, government bodies, and end-users.
Leverage internal resource - including lighting designers, engineers, and technical support—to deliver tailored, value-driven proposals.
Represent the company at meetings, presentations, and industry events to build brand awareness and trust in the WA market.
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and upcoming projects to identify and pursue strategic opportunities.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM records, and contribute insights to regional growth strategy.
What We're Looking For:
Commercially sharp, technically credible, and highly motivated by closing meaningful deals.
Confident working independently in the field while collaborating closely with internal teams.
Skilled at building trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders—from specifiers to end-users.
A natural problem-solver with a consultative selling style and a deep understanding of solution-based sales.
Passionate about innovation, sustainability, and the positive impact of smart lighting on communities and cities.
What we offer you:
- A highly autonomous role with the flexibility to shape your territory and strategy.
- A global business that is investing in the local state
- Multi-disciplinary organisation - moving lighting hardware to smart controls
- Competitive salary and corporate discounts
- Ongoing training and development
- Additional leave and bonus
- Flexible work arrangements
- Access to health and wellbeing programs
This role will be shaped for the right person. If you see yourself in this, let's start the conversation.
