As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team.
Position Overview:
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth and expanding market presence within the mining sector. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the mining industry and a proven track record in business development. The ideal candidate will have strong networking skills, an ability to identify new business opportunities, and a passion for building long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Market Analysis and Strategy Development:
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, competitors and potential threats in the mining sector.
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve growth objectives.
- Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to refine strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:
- Identify and engage with potential clients, partners, and stakeholders in the mining industry.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new key clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
- Develop tailored proposals and presentations to address client needs and secure new business contracts.
Project Management and Coordination:
- Oversee the development and execution of business proposals, including project scoping, budgeting, and timelines.
- Collaborate with internal Mill and BMH PMG teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Manage and track project progress, addressing any issues or obstacles that may arise.
Networking and Representation:
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance visibility and establish connections.
- Participate in industry forums and associations to stay informed about trends and opportunities.
- Leverage industry contacts to generate leads and create new business opportunities.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, including performance metrics, project statuses, and market insights.
- Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of business strategies and make recommendations for improvements.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and drive continuous improvement.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with senior management to align business development efforts with overall company goals and objectives.
- Lead and mentor junior business development staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their performance.
- Foster a collaborative and proactive team environment to drive success and achieve targets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Metallurgy, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- Proven experience in business development, preferably within the mining sector or related industries.
- Strong understanding of the mining industry, including market trends, regulations, and key players.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Willingness to travel as required for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
