Chief Financial Officer
- Winner of the AFR 2023 Most Innovative Companies Award in Healthcare.
- Medical device industry, based in Macquarie Park.
- Opportunity to join a progressive and well-funded start-up Company.
- Work on 'world first' products set to transform stroke and traumatic brain injury care.
Join EMVision and be a part of a company developing and commercialising innovative world-class portable brain scanner products to transform the timely diagnosis and treatment of neurological emergencies, such as stroke. EMVision's products have the potential to positively impact the lives of millions of patients globally. Having been awarded the top innovator in healthcare for the AFR 2023 Most Innovative Companies list, EMVision is creating genuine 'world first' Australian developed and produced neurodiagnostic devices that can be deployed at the scene, wherever the patient is.
EMVision Medical Devices Ltd (ASX:EMV) is a publicly listed company with ambitions to help reduce the global burden of stroke and traumatic brain injury. Our first commercial product, the emu brain scanner (for in-hospital use) is presently undergoing an international pivotal trial at leading comprehensive stroke centres such as Mayo Clinic, UCLA, UTHealth and Mt Sinai, among others, to support regulatory clearance. Our second product, the First Responder (for pre-hospital use) is taking to the road and the skies, following closely behind. We are currently transitioning from a predominately R&D focus to a focus on commercialisation and preparing for market entry. We are pursuing a United States first approach, with global expansion ambitions. Key additional markets of interest include APAC and Europe, among others. We have established a pilot production line in Macquarie Park, Sydney.
With this transition underway, we are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer, specifically a driven, high-energy individual with an 'owner' mentality, with the confidence to support market entry and business growth. The role is ideal for a leader who has navigated the shift from technology development to sales in MedTech, biotech or a similar environment and is adept at working in high-growth, regulated settings.
Key to this role is an ability to work cross-functionality, being hands-on to complete the primary deliverables of planning, implementation, managing and operation of all finance activities, whilst also functioning at a management level. - Implement robust KPIs and dashboards for financial and operational performance.
Commercial Finance
- Manage capital allocation across R&D, clinical trials, production and commercial rollout.
- Lead the design and implementation of financial strategies aligned to commercial growth (sales, marketing, service and logistics operations build out, pricing models, procurement processes, revenue forecasting)

- Model various go-to-market scenarios and financial outcomes to guide executive and Board-level planning.
Risk, Legal, Go to Market Preparation and Expansion
- Implement risk management policies and oversee insurance, contracts, and legal liaison on financial matters.
- Oversee financial risk management, including FX exposure and development of supply chain finance strategies.
- Support legal and compliance oversight for commercial contracts and cross-border operations.
- Contribute to tax structuring and transfer pricing strategies in support of international growth.
Capital Markets and Non-Dilutive Funding
- Support capital markets activity including financial models, investor materials, due diligence support and shareholder communications
- As required, act as the key financial spokesperson to investors, analysts, and stakeholders and establish strong relationships with investment banks, brokers, and institutional investors.
- Own grant pipeline, grant reporting and opportunity mapping, including domestic and international non-dilutive grant programs relevant to R&D, clinical trials, manufacturing and commercialisation.
