Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network & Systems Administrator to join our IT team. This role involves managing our network and infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and availability across the company's IT systems. You will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure to support business operations across Australia.

At Australian United Retailers (AUR), we are committed to innovation and technology excellence in the retail industry. As part of our IT team, you'll be essential in supporting the systems that help thousands of users nationwide.

Key Responsibilities Network Administration & Support:

  • Configure and maintain network devices including Juniper , Fortinet, and F5 Big-IP APM.

  • Optimize network performance and ensure secure operation of VPNs and load balancers.

  • Manage routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.

Systems Administration:

  • Manage Windows and Linux servers, ensuring uptime and security.

  • Administer core IT systems like Active Directory and Group Policy.

  • Oversee backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Working with the Infrastructure team maintain server, storage, and virtualization environments (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V).

  • Plan and execute hardware/software upgrades with minimal disruption.

  • Work on integrating cloud services with on-premise infrastructure.

Security Administration:

  • Implement security measures using Fortinet firewalls, F5 Big-IP APM, and intrusion prevention systems.

  • Ensure compliance with internal security policies and industry standards. (Essential 8, NIST, ITGC)

Technical Support:

  • Provide advanced (L 2/3) support for network and system issues.

  • Document infrastructure and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with systems administration (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V).

  • Solid PowerShell experience.

  • Solid experience with network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network technologies such as Juniper, Fortinet, and F5 Big-IP APM.

  • Familiarity with network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, and IPS.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex network and infrastructure issues.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).

  • Knowledge of automation tools and scripting outside of PowerShell.

  • Certifications such as JNCIA, Fortinet NSE, F5 Certified Administrator, or CompTIA Network
