Role Details:

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Officer to join our team in Broken Hill on an initial 6-month contract, with the strong potential to transition into a permanent role.

As the Senior IT Officer, you'll take the lead in delivering end-to-end IT support across the business. You will be responsible for managing desktop support, system and network administration, and ensuring the smooth operation of both on-premise and cloud infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the support, installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and cloud services.
• Provide advanced technical support in desktop support and system/network administration.
• Oversee IT security practices, including firewall and antivirus management.
• Act as the key liaison between the IT department and other business units to ensure IT solutions align with strategic and operational needs.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement preventative measures to ensure high availability.
• Manage vendors and third-party service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective IT services.

What You Will Bring:

• Experience in desktop support, systems, and network administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with both on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in IT security tools and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead IT initiatives, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
