About the Role

Frys Energywise is one of Australia's leading energy assessment businesses. Our business continues to grow on the back of great service by the team and our dedication to client satisfaction. Our clients include some of the NSW largest volume home builders and Architecture and Design firms.

We are looking for an experienced and accredited NatHERS Assessor with a minimum of 2 years of experience in assessment of Class 1 & 2 dwellings, specifically project homes, custom designed homes and multi dwelling dwellings in NatHERS accredited software, preferably Bers Pro, but trained Hero assessors are also welcomed to apply.

You must be well versed in the skills required to optimize assessments, cost effectively, to meet compliance, specifically the new BASIX 7 Stars targets. Experience with the online BASIX tool and competent in the completion of BASIX reports. Additional qualifications in construction and design would be highly regarded, but not essential. Previous experience in operational management would also be a highly regarded skill, that could lead to more senior roles in the business.

Day to Day responsibilities would include;

  • Preparation of assessments, including the checking of plans for compliance and the completion of a NatHERS and BASIX commitments form, for assessment.
  • Completion of improvement summary reports for clients which summarises all the improvements made to the assessment to meet compliance.
  • Amending previous assessments, including assessments by others.
  • Completion of the associated BASIX Reports.
  • Completing BASIX DIY pathway assessment if and as required.
  • Attending online workflow meetings.
  • Workflow management, liaising with both internal and external team members.
  • Responding to both internal team members and external clients about   questions regarding assessments and associated building related enquiries, by email, phone, and online.
  • Updating project data into the intercompany software program.
  • Involvement in process improvement when required.

About You

As a member of a team of assessors, you will enjoy collaborating with others on projects and help find resolutions. You will have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.  You have the interpersonal skills to build rapport with both other team members and clients. You have experience and enjoy the pressure of meeting assessment deadlines. You are a detailed person and understand the importance of accurate and cost-effective assessments. You are solutions focused, able to think on your feet, and confidently make decisions.

You may be either currently working as a team member in a similar role, looking for a more senior role, or with a career development opportunity. Alternatively, you could be currently running your own consultancy and looking to focus on your skills as an assessor rather than the day-to-day distractions of running a business, with a secure income stream.

You are experienced with PDF editing tools and Microsoft Office.  Your time management skills are one of your key strengths.
