About the Company:

Coolabah Capital Investments (CCI) is a global fixed-income firm managing over AUD $16 billion of funds under management. CCI focuses on generating alpha from long and short security-specific investments. This is facilitated through quantitative proprietary modelling combined with credit research. The team includes 53+ talented, full-time staff located in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, London and Miami.

Position Overview

Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will be responsible for general accounting / bookkeeping of the consolidated group's multi-national Xero accounts. This will include monthly accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining folders and workpapers for audits and tax returns, contributing to management reporting workflows and HR payroll administration.

The role is suitable for someone who works from home.

Tasks:

Monthly balance sheet and P&L reconciliations including accrual journals in Xero

- Prepare monthly management accounts in Spotlight Reporting software (API to Xero)

- Assist in preparation of audited general purpose financial statements, and review those prepared by external administrators for funds

-  Assist with audit and tax return preparation and document collation

-  Manage month-end operational tasks for investment products – calculations sheets of rebates and capital partner fees as per signed legal agreements, and the administration of these in the accounting system.

-  Clear communications to investors and advisors regarding the rebates and capital partner fees

-  Other ad-hoc tasks to assist with Finance team and other operational teams, as they arise

Skills/Experience:

-
Strong Microsoft excel skills

- Experience in using cloud based accounting software, Xero experience would be a plus

- Experience in management reporting, financial statement preparation and dealing with auditor queries

Ability to work autonomously on tasks, and be a team player & hard worker

- Ability to get stuff done, and think from first principles

Other:

This company is open for this to be a part-time role of around 5 hours per day (i.e. around school hours) and to be paid at an hourly rate.

As it does not require daily face-to-face interaction with other team members it can be undertaken from home (and providing the work is completed) around your other responsibilities.

However, it will be important to have regular face-to-face contact with the team, approximately 1-2 times per month, so as to maintain connection with the team.
