About Us:
Donutjam is a fast-growing dessert bar, famous for our delicious donuts, trending desserts, and premium coffee. As we continue to expand, we're looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper & HR professional to support the owners with financial and human resources management. This flexible role allows you to work from home, providing a great opportunity to balance work with a dynamic, growing business.
Position Overview
In this role, you'll manage our financial records and help maintain smooth HR operations. Working closely with the owners, you'll play an essential role in helping Donutjam grow while ensuring that our financials are in order and our team is supported. Your expertise in bookkeeping and HR will help us continue to scale successfully and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping:
* Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger entries.
* Process payroll and ensure tax compliance.
* Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements regularly.
* Assist with year-end closing and liaise with accountants during tax preparation.
Human Resources:
* Manage employee records and contracts.
* Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job ads, screening candidates, and onboarding new employees.
* Administer employee benefits and leave entitlements.
* Support employee performance and handle any HR-related queries.
* Stay up-to-date on labor laws and ensure the business is compliant.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in bookkeeping/accounting (1+ years).
* Knowledge of HR processes, including payroll, recruitment, and employee relations.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
* Familiarity with HR tools and systems is a plus.
* Strong organisational, time-management, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
* Previous experience in a growing business environment is an advantage.
