A rare opportunity exists for a Senior accountant with Public Practice experience to join our boutique firm. We are seeking a Senior Accountant with minimum 5-year experience in all aspects of taxation from BAS preparation to financials and income tax return preparation.

Key duties and responsibilities:

· Assisting in preparation and review of Activity Statements

· Assisting in preparation and review of Financial Statements

· Assisting in preparation and review of all types of Income Tax Returns

· Assisting in other tax related matters such as FBT and CGT

· Liaising with ATO and other government bodies for and on behalf of clients, including preparation of written correspondence to the ATO and other bodies when required

· Undertake general tax / accounting related research tasks

· Assisting in tax planning

· Management of workflow and coordinating jobs to meet deadlines, including assisting the team with overflow when necessary

· Supervise and assist other team members including job reviews and finalisations within required deadlines

· Monitoring lodgement program to ensure ATO lodgement dates are met for income tax, activity statements, STP, TPAR, etc

· Review any compliance issues and matters as they arise

· Must be able to work unsupervised and report directly to the line manager
