About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of RACQ Group's bank and general ledger clearing accounts. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing accurate and timely reconciliations and data analysis across high volumes of transactions flowing through RACQ's various payment systems. This role is critical in ensuring financial accuracy and operational efficiency across the organisation.
Temporary contract through to 4 May 2026
Commencing at the 5A EBA pay level + Super
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reconciliation & Analysis, p erform daily bank reconciliations, investigate variances and unreconciled transactions, and ensure timely resolution across RACQ's payment systems, branches, and agents.
Stakeholder Engagement, p artner with internal finance teams, Member Admin, Frontline, Claims, and external banking providers (e.g., Westpac, Fat Zebra) to resolve transaction issues and maintain strong working relationships.
Process Improvement & Risk Management, i dentify and escalate reconciliation issues that may pose financial or reputational risk, contribute to process enhancements, and support compliance with Group Risk protocols.
Accounts & Reporting Support, m anage general ledger reconciliations, corporate credit card administration, invoice processing, and aged debtor reporting in line with internal standards and finance timetables.
Customer & Member Support, a ssist members and customers with account queries, receipting issues, and payment method concerns, ensuring a high standard of service and timely follow-up.
About you:
Professional Experience, 3–5 years of hands-on experience in accounts and general office administration, ideally within a large organisation.
Technical Proficiency, s trong skills in MS Office 365, particularly advanced Excel capabilities, with the ability to analyse and interpret large data sets from multiple systems.
Reconciliation Expertise, p roven experience in performing bank and clearing account reconciliations with accuracy and attention to detail.
Problem Solving & Time Managemen t, d emonstrated ability to solve numerical and data-related problems efficiently while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Communication & Collaboration, e ffective communication skills, including issue escalation, and a foundational understanding of accounting or bookkeeping principles.
