Assistant Controller

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Controller to join our finance team, supporting the VP of Finance in all financial reporting and accounting activities. You will be responsible for managing day-to day accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies, together with identifying and implementing process improvements.

To be successful in this role, you will have excellent technical and analytical skills, staff management proficiency and experience with financial reporting rules and regulations, together with internal accounting control procedures. You will also work across our global geographies, which means some background knowledge with rules and regulations in the applicable countries would be beneficial.

**What You'll Do**
- Timely execution and management of monthly financial reporting including month end close, cash flow forecasting, variance analysis and assistance with preparation of board packs
- Management of Accounts receivable (AR), Accounts payable (AP) and Bank Reconciliation functions
- Preparation and lodgement of all Business Activity statements
- Support the VP of finance with successfully completing the external audit process including preparation of annual financial statements
Provides IFRS/AASB research and prepare/review position papers
- Identify and implement improvements to existing processes and procedures
- Provide regular and clear communication to the VP of Finance on material updates around the finance related areas including AR, AP, cash flow and issues likely to result in financial loss.

**What You’ll Bring**
- CA/CPA Qualifications **(required) **and some audit experience is preferred
- Typically, a **minimum of 4+ years**'** related experience, with increasing responsibility within an effective global finance team, ideally in a rapidly growing SaaS company
- Strong technical accounting and reporting skills
- Proven people management skills including advising, challenging and influencing stakeholders
- An analytical, mathematical and data driven approach, with the ability to use data analytics tools
- Excellent business systems experience (e.g G-Suite, Microsoft, Salesforce, Sage/Intacct)
- Advanced Excel, Google Sheet and financial modelling skills
- Fantastic interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with complex and sensitive information under critical timeframes
- Have a hands on approach and the ability to handle multiple priorities and changing schedules.
