Perth, Australia Murdoch University Full time

About The Team

The Food Futures Institute encompasses key centres working on major grain and horticultural crops, pastures, animal production, health and sustainable farming systems. A global challenge is increasing farm productivity without further degrading water, land and soils; and as the changing climate and increasing population lead to a strain on food production and our ability to meet demand, we are developing innovative ways to optimise production, whilst minimising impact on the environment.

A major focus of the Food Futures Institute will be the translation of quality research to better on-ground outcomes and, in doing so, develop a strong national and international reputation.

Your New Role

The Administration Coordinator supports the PVC Food Futures Institute and Institute Business Manager by providing expert, confidential secretarial and administrative assistance and by demonstrating a superior level of personal initiative and professionalism.

Your key responsibilities will include
- Manage daily operations of the PVC office for the Food Futures Institute, handling enquiries with discretion and initiative.
- Provide admin and secretarial support to PVCs, including scheduling, event coordination, travel, and visitor hosting.
- Offer secretarial support for meetings and committees as needed.
- Oversee recruitment processes for approved academic and professional roles, including shortlisting and interview coordination.
- Manage documentation for:

- Academic titles (Adjunct, Honorary, etc.)
- Probation and promotion
- Government licenses and exemptions
- Articulations
- Staff awards
- Other tasks as required
- Draft and manage PVC communications and mailing lists.
