We’re the St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria or, more fondly, Vinnies Victoria. Most people know Vinnies as op shops, but did you know that it’s also where ‘Good Works’ happen? What this means is that for more than 165 years we’ve been a safety net for thousands of households across Victoria -including families - who fall through the cracks every year.

We provide practical and compassionate support to people across Victoria whose daily struggles can include putting food on the table, paying essential utilities and ensuring their children remain at school to obtain an education. We have many services and programs, including soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria (VCV), which assists some of Victoria’s most vulnerable communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, the housing crisis and family violence.

**About the Role**

The Media and Content Lead plays an integral role in researching, developing, and publishing stories about St Vincent de Paul Society Victoria and the good works we do.

Focused on producing compelling written and digital content, the Media and Content Lead will closely work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop and deliver a PR and content strategy that will elevate the organisation’s profile along with social justice and advocacy activities within the media.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Developing and implementing a media and PR strategy in line with SVDPV’s Communications Strategy, supporting brand and fundraising activities;
- Preparing SVDPV’s media releases and seek uptake in the media;
- Playing a key role in the ongoing development of pillar communications research and messaging;
- Managing the overall planning, coordination and curation of all content for your area, championing SVDP values and key messaging to create engaging content that can be utilised and repurposed across all 4 advocacy pillars and resonates with diverse audiences;
- Create content briefs and manage project execution for key suppliers in relation to commissioned videography, photography etc.

**About You**:
You are currently working in a similar role and have experience in developing and implementing successful strategies to develop engaging digital media. You will confidently build connections with your key stakeholders and create robust working relationships that add value to digital campaigns and programs.

**More specifically you will have**:

- A degree in marketing, communications, media or related discipline;
- Experience in print journalism, professional writing, copy writing, editing or similar;
- Experience in public relations and media engagement;
- Experience in social media, with a solid understanding of the needs of online communities (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter);
- High level of interpersonal skills: ability to liaise with others within and outside of the Society;
- Strong attention to detail;
- To have an empathy and understanding of the ethos and mission of St Vincent de Paul Society.

**Eligibility**
