**The Role**
A Systems Program Office (SPO) Contract Management Officer will be exposed to a wide range of commercial activities. The Contract Management Officer will be accountable to the SPO Business Manager and have responsibility for the delivery of commercial and contract management outcomes for the SPO. This includes day to day management of contracts under the Defence Support Services Panel (DSS) arrangements, support development of commercial acumen for all SPO staff, as well as provide input to and participate in RFT, evaluation and negotiation activities as required and in accordance with SPO processes.
The Contract Management Officer will be required to work both independently and as part of a team. Additionally this role will include a considerable level of engagement with internal and external stakeholders including other business areas within Defence, Service Providers, and Industry Partners.
The Contract Management Officer will be responsible for various contract and procurement activities and provide the following services:
- Manage existing contracts under the DSS Panel and ensure compliance with Defence Policy and Directions.
- Work with broader contract management teams to revise and/or develop, implement and embed commercial governance frameworks, SOPs and tools.
- Implement initiatives to increase business and commercial acumen of SPO staff.
- Prepare tender documentation and complete tender processes from commencement to contract execution.
- Provide commercial assistance and guidance to SPO staff, Deputy Director and Director.
**About our Team**
Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems Branch (EWIS) in Joint Systems Division (JSD) acquires, sustains and integrates Intelligence and Electronic Warfare capabilities into a wide variety of air, land and sea based platforms and systems.
EWIS is comprised of four Systems Program Office’s (SPO), EWIS Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) SPO, EWIS Joint and Air SPO, EWIS Land SPO and EWIS Maritime SPO which are responsible for acquisition, sustainment and integration of Electronic Warfare equipment, and the EWIS Executive Directorate which is responsible for a wide range of corporate governance and reporting requirements.
The APS 6 Contract Management Officer will be assigned to EWIS AESA SPO and be primarily responsible for the management of contract and procurement activities for the SPO, including resources contracted through the DSS Panel arrangements.
