Contract Coordinator

The role is varied and will include the folowing responsibilities amongst others:
- Monitoring activities and processes, organising the day to day operations, work assignment and resource allocation of external contractors.
- Ensure all external contractors maintain statutory license requirements associated with their service provision.
- Ensure the effective planning and scheduling of corrective and preventative maintenance in consultation with the Maintenance Planner and Trade Coordinator.
- Manage resources including coordinating and managing the allocation of work with and for the BEMS team ensuring quality client service and timeframes are met.
- Ensure the accurate input of asset data, maintenance task specifications, repair details and their management within Queensland Health's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assign work order requests to internal and external resources for building related repairs.
- Liaise with staff from all levels of the facility, including contractors to ensure that work is undertaken with mínimal disruption to staff and clients.
- Monitor, review and deliver the campus Contractor Induction Program.
- Prioritise maintenance schedules and programs to achieve compliance with FSS Service Plans in conjunction with Maintenance Planner and Trade Coordinator.
- Monitor progress of staff and contractor performance to assist the Trade Coordinator with resource management.
- Ensure that maintenance operations and outcomes comply with relevant Acts, Legislation, Regulations, By-laws, Australian Standards and Queensland Health Asset Management policies.
To be successful in this position you should be able to demonstrate the following key competencies:
- Broad knowledge of Statutory Acts, Legislation, Regulations and Standards applicable to the facilities management environment within Queensland.
- Demonstrated track record of successful contractor coordination, asset management and use in maintenance systems used to support service delivery in this field.
- Experience in contractor coordination relating to minor capital works projects.
- Understanding Workplace Health and Safety requirements.Well-developed analytical skills that enable identification and resolution of issues including opportunities for improvement.
- High level organisational skills.A dynamic and driven individual who can demonstrate strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and develop stakeholder relationships.
- Experience in the areas of planning, resource management, contract management, budget management, and project management.Proven abilities in delivering responsive, quality support services that meet client and business requirements.
- Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide advice to a diverse range of staff and contractors.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification in the following areas would be well regarded:
- facilities management
- operational management
- trade qualification (electrical, fitter, plumbing, mechanical/refrigeration mechanic)
- tickets in forklift, confined spaces, working at heights or similar
- Building Management System (BMS) experience is essential
- Undertake duties as part of the team of emergency response officers.
- Participate in an after-hours 'on call' roster (at the discretion of the Campus Maintenance Manager).
- Possession of a current Queensland 'C' class drivers' license is highly desirable.
