Rostering and Administration Officer

The Rostering and Administration Officer is responsible for rostering a team of community based support workers to deliver consumer care and support in alignment with a range of program requirements within a community based service. Working in partnership with consumers and stakeholders, the Rostering Officer ensures that shifts are allocated in a timely manner and with mínimal disruption to consumer preferences and workforce availability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all rostering enquiries and duties
Coordinate all rostering requests ensuring they are completed accurately and in a timely manner to reflect consumer requests, within scope of role
Update and maintain roster changes log (or similar system) to ensure accuracy of roster changes
Manage and prioritise workload in constantly changing high volume environment to meet consumer requests and business needs
Meet deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail and accuracy including a strong focus on quality of work
Update roster database with support worker availability, consumer preferences, leave requests and other relevant information
Monitor hours worked by support workers to ensure they are working within the scope of industrial relations obligations
Demonstrates a high level of customer service to consumers, general public and staff in a prompt, professional and effective manner
Communicate sensitively, openly and effectively with consumers, their families/carers and/or advocates, substitute decision makers and other staff including providing prompt, courteous and relevant responses to all enquiries including internal and external requests
Strive for continuous improvement in work practices by seeking and reporting opportunities for improvement
Work safely at all times to protect the health, safety and welfare of self, colleagues and consumers
Undertake administrative duties as required
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Certificate III/IV in Business Administration (desirable) or Community Agenda/Rostering Experience (essential)
Current National Police Clearance - Aged Care (essential)
Must have community aged care rostering experience
Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced rostering, administration and data entry role utilising rostering computing systems and customer information databases
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing priorities to deliver outcomes to a high standard within agreed timeframes
Strong customer service focus with excellent interpersonal skills
Experience in using electronic rostering systems and consumer databases
