**The Role**
This is a new position in a new Branch which provides an exciting opportunity to be involved in the coordination of building the Branch from the ground up. Working directly to the Assistant Secretary, you will use your initiative and sound judgment in providing high level executive and administrative support to the newly established ANCA Branch.

You will:

- Have accountability for delivering executive support to the Assistant Secretary including diary management, correspondence, travel facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
- Be required to work autonomously and possess the ability to manage competing priorities and multitask effectively.
- Manage inboxes, workflows and track tasks.
- Prepare briefing packs, reports and papers.
- Build and sustain relationships in order to work collaboratively within the work area and other areas of Defence.
- Provide secretariat support for meetings including organising meetings, preparing briefs, taking dictation and drafting minutes.
- Prepare travel itineraries and book domestic and international travel.
- Perform a range of administrative support tasks for the Director General such as leave requests, IT requests and expense claims.

**About our Team**
The Australian Naval Classification Authority (ANCA) is responsible for establishing, managing and continuously improving a system of naval classification (the ANC Framework) to assure the seaworthiness of naval vessels operating in defence of Australia.

As a newly-established Defence agency, the ANCA is undergoing establishment and will include a diverse geographic workforce based in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. The ANC Authority has engaged a long term Sovereign Industry Partner, Bureau Veritas, to support ANCA work.

Additionally, it will be necessary to provide limited support to the broader ANCA team, which is geographically-diverse and will be undergoing a period of growth. They can also expect to be allocated duties not specifically mentioned under the duty statement that are within the capabilities, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying jobs at this classification level.
