**The Role**
The APS5 Navy Events Coordination Officer role is a rare opportunity to be part of a high energy team working together to deliver high profile events on behalf of Navy. The primary responsibility of the Navy Events Coordination Officer within the Navy Events team is to support Manager Navy Events in managing the sequencing, coordination, planning, preparation and execution of high profile Navy Events. The role will assist the Navy Events Manager on the planning and execution of specific Navy activities and will be supported by the Navy Events team.
The position is the secondary point of contact for external Event Organisers and may represent Manager Navy Events at coordination conferences and under limited direction be required to develop detailed project plans, including schedules and comprehensive timelines. Other responsibilities include coordination of Guest Speakers, Master of Ceremony and VIPs, issuing of invitations and the preparation of detailed instructions to cover all aspects of the highp-profile Navy activity.
**About our Team**
APS5 Navy Events Coordination Officer is one of two APS positions within the Navy Events team and reports to the APS 6 Navy Events Manager. There are also a number of military members at varying ranks within the team. The small and growing team works collaboratively, coordinating high profile Navy activities. This may include but is not limited to: commissionings, decommissionings, opening ceremonies, VIP functions, International Seapower Conference, High Profile Public Events of Significance, commendations and other commemorative activities.
Over the next 12 months and beyond it is expected that the team will experience high tempo periods with the introduction of new capability into service and retiring outgoing capability. This is a high performing team that is looking for a high performing person to join them to deliver work that is of significant reputational value to Navy and Defence. This key position provides consistency in the quality of events, retention of corporate knowledge, leadership, guidance and mentoring on fundamental event management aspects.
