**The Role**
The APS6 Assurance Manager leads a small team responsible for planning, conducting and reporting on assurance activities within the Defence Maritime community.
We are looking for 4 motivated persons to join our team who has the following attributes:
- The ability to quickly acquire a sound understanding of risks pertaining to an organisation
- The ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships
- The ability to develop a sound understanding of an organisation’s assurance framework, and to articulate that knowledge across Defence seaworthiness systems.
**About our Team**
The Office of the Defence Seaworthiness Regulator (ODSwR) is an independent Defence Regulator.
The ODSwR is tasked with managing the Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSwMS), a Defence-wide maritime risk management system.
It does this through:
- Scanning the maritime environment and advocating on behalf of Defence
- Providing a regulatory framework to manage maritime risks
- Assuring maritime risks are proactively considered and controlled
- Monitoring trends across the Defence Enterprise
- Providing support to the Defence maritime community through education and advice.
**APS 6 Assurance Managers**
- Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction to plan, prioritise tasks and deliver quality outcomes
- Experience in using analytical tools and techniques to analyse performance data to develop reports for different audiences
- Demonstrated experience in effective stakeholder engagement as part of an integrated team of Military, APS and contracted employees
**APS 5 Compliance Risk Officer**
- Ability to undertake research, analyse information and develop reports for different audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work under direction to plan and prioritise tasks and deliver quality outcomes.
- Strong writing skills, with demonstrated experience authoring either regulations, policies, procedures, executive briefs or reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to achieve organisational outcomes, with a preference for experience as part of an integrated team of military, APS and contracted employees.
