Working in a town centre in the south of the ACT, this large Government Department brings together socially focussed individuals keen to make a difference to Australian society. Due to internal promotions, this section needs an experienced APS6 Policy Officer to get the job done and support the wider team.

**Your new role**

Are you passionate about creating inclusive communities and empowering individuals who require additional support? Join this dynamic team as an APS 6 Policy Officer, where you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of strategic policies for a grants program. This program aims to provide information, capacity building supports, and funding to organisation's delivering projects that promote inclusivity, individual empowerment, and community engagement. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

- Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research, analyse information and data from diverse sources, and interpret findings to inform policy considerations.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the drafting of strategic and operational policies, ensuring they align with the goals of the grants program and support inclusivity, individual capability building, and community engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely with other policy areas within the department and external agencies. Implement strategies to improve connections and promote effective collaboration.
