**Your new company**
This well-known Federal Government Agency is based in Braddon, Canberra. They are seeking an APS6 Policy Officer to join one of their teams that researches and leads policy for a key program that supports Australians living with adversity.

**Your new role**
You will be responsible for organising the team’s workflow and providing support to the strategic planning of a key program. Your duties include but are not limited to:

- Reviewing case files and preparing written summaries of the cases to senior executives who are appearing as witnesses in front of a Royal Commission.
- Performing independent research to determine policy development which will be forwarded to senior executives and the Royal Commission.
- Interpreting complex information and breaking it down into written briefs, speeches, and Ministerial correspondence for broader audiences to understand.
- Identifying emerging opportunities and risks across the Branch and providing potential solutions.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful for this position you will have previous experience within a similar position and within the Federal Government. You will also have highly developed organisational and time management skills, the ability to manage changing workloads and competing priorities, the ability to draft, coordinate and format materials, have relationship and stakeholder management experience and problem-solving skills.

To be considered for this role you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
