This Government Agency is working to assist communities in times of disaster while also proofing Australia against future emergencies. Currently they have a need for high performing APS6 Policy officers to support the delivery high priority programs and policies.

**Your new role**

You will have the opportunity to assist in the development of social, environmental, International, and economic policies. These policies are designed by the agency to support Australian communities impacted by disasters and better prepare communities for future disasters, in the face of climate change.

**What you'll need to succeed**

To succeed in this role, you will be a high-performing individual with:

- Providing strategic policy advice, briefing and coordination
- Assist policy outcomes and support relevant Ministers
- Work effectively under pressure and in a changing environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Sound understanding of disaster and climate management issues facing Australia
