**The Opportunity
As our Manager of the Departmental Liaison Office, you will:

- Deliver timely effective management, coordination, and facilitation of critical policy, service and operational issues within the Department.
- Facilitate and coordinate the efficient and accurate flow of information between the Minister's Office and the Department, through liaison with relevant staff across the organisation, for the purposes of critical issues management.
- Actively contribute to, and ensure the effectiveness of, whole-of-department responses to contentious or sensitive issues by ensuring quality, integrated, consistent and timely information is provided to the Minister's Office and the Director-General, including briefings, submissions and correspondence.
- Provide strategic, high-level written and verbal advice that informs the decision making of the Director-General, senior management of the Office of the Director
- General and staff of the Minister's Office on contentious and emergent issues.
- Resolve problems arising from provision of conflicting information and ensure consistency of advice with Government policy and Departmental objectives and procedures.
- Lead the research and analysis of complex, sensitive and high-risk issues, assess their implications from the Department's perspective and exercise appropriate authority in decision making, particularly in sensitive or contentious situations, ensuring effective responses and alignment with organisational and whole-of-Government goals and values.
- Lead the Departmental Liaison function, providing oversight of daily operations, ensuring the quality and timeliness of information provided to the Minister's office and Director-General.
- Oversee the strategic deployment of the team and project resources to deliver critical Ministerial and departmental outcomes in a high-volume environment, while fostering a supportive work environment.
- Develop and implement frameworks and protocols that enhance the Department's responsiveness and reputation across the Ministerial interface and whole-of-government landscape.
- Undertake time-critical special projects as required and as directed by senior officers of the Office of the Director-General.
