**The Role**
The Government Liaison, Parliamentary Business and Strategic Communications team of Submarines Division, Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group, is looking to fill a number of APS 5 and APS 6 positions.
**About our Team**
The Government Liaison and Parliamentary Business team of Submarines Division is a small and collaborative team that facilitates the efficient and effective engagement of the division with Minister’s offices and Defence’s senior leadership.
The team works across a broad range of activities including Parliamentary sittings and committees, Senate Estimates, media queries, Freedom of Information requests, Government to Government relations, industry engagement, and performance reporting.
Members of the team take a collegiate and collaborative approach to deliver high performance outcomes for the Division. We work closely with the Submarines Division Executive, and our partners in other Groups and Services, directly supporting their work with the Government.
They will have a keen eye for detail, with a high degree of self-motivation to prioritise and complete tasks within specified timeframes. They will have the ability to work effectively in a small team with limited direction and will thrive in a busy workplace with multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
The APS 5 officer will coordinate and contribute to the work of the team and provide advice and assistance to other team members and the Division. They will be accountable to set work priorities, allocate tasks, and manage workflows. They need to review and ensure high-quality work and will engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve Submarines Division and Defence outcomes.
The APS 6 officer will be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows and performance. They will build team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others.
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain, a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
