
Liability Claims Specialist

**Your Role**:
Gallagher Bassett are looking for a Claims Specialist with exposure to General Insurance who is looking to solidify their career within our Global Brand. As a Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for managing your own claims portfolio from inception to resolution. You will have the opportunity to manage government related risks, including Emergency Services, Education, Police and Heath portfolios. This is a unique opportunity to work in a supportive culture on claims which are meaningful, relevant in today’s environment and stimulating.
**You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following**:
- Manage a portfolio of liability claims end to end, including investigation, determination, assessment, negotiation and resolution.
- Interpret public liability and professional indemnity policy wordings to assess indemnity and coverage.
- Provide advice to insured clients on indemnity, liability, quantum, reserving and resolution strategy.
- Liaise with various third-party providers including solicitors, loss adjusters, brokers and barristers.
- Resolve claims within client service instructions, company guidelines and delegated authority.
- Manage litigated claims to resolution within scope of delegated authority including direct negotiation, ADR and mediation.
- Resolve complaints in accordance with company guidelines and identify potential fraud/recovery indicators for claims where applicable
**We’re interested in hearing from people who possess**:
- Claims experience in public liability and/or professional indemnity
- Industry specific ANZIIF qualifications (desirable) with a strong exposure to claims involving Third Party Liability
- Flexibility and receptivity to change
- Focus on customer / client relationships
- Excellent; customer service, communication, time management, organisation and interpersonal skills
- PC literate - Database and Microsoft Office
