We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Liability Claims & Recoveries Officer to manage an end-to-end portfolio of liability claims, delivering high-quality, prompt and efficient service to clients while ensuring full compliance with delegated authority, legislation and organisational policies.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage an end-to-end portfolio of public liability claims—including personal injury, fleet and property losses—in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Respond to enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing timely, accurate and appropriate advice on correspondence, issues and claim outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and records, utilising systems and technology to support performance analysis, workflow management and service improvement.
  • Collaborate effectively within the team, sharing information, supporting colleagues and contributing to the achievement of service performance targets.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements, ensuring claims management remains efficient, effective and compliant with evolving legislation, regulations and organisational leadership behaviours.

Your skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in public liability claims and recoveries management within a large organisation or insurance environment.
  • Detailed and current knowledge of relevant insurance legislation, regulations and requirements, particularly those applicable to government organisations.
  • Proven ability to take ownership of the customer experience, with advanced skills in building rapport, understanding stakeholder needs and resolving concerns.
  • Strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn, implement and support new processes, technologies and service requirements as they evolve
