Our capital markets practice covers the full range of capital markets products and incorporates specialists in debt and equity capital markets, derivatives and structured finance, securitisation, corporate trust and agency and high yield. The role is responsible for managing the end to end Working Capital for matters billed out of our Australian Offices, involving but not limited to:
- Managing matters through the inception process ensuring information is accurately reflected in relevant systems
- Billing of legal matters in a timely and efficient manner
- Debt portfolio monitoring and taking appropriate steps as necessary

- Australian partners and their teams
- APAC and global finance community
**Role and responsibilities**
**Receipting**
- Oversee the bank receipting and maintenance of trust account payments and transactions
- Ensure receipting is compliant with Trust Regulation and Firm policy
- Reconciliation of amounts receipted and investigation into any variances
**Matter Inception**
- Oversee the matter inception process
- Work with PAs to ensure matters are opened within system in a timely fashion
- Ensure client rates are setup correctly in system, with reference to Engagement Letter, facilitating correct WIP amounts to be accrued
- Managing the rate change process to ensure correct rates are reflected in system
**Customer Profitability**
- Responding to rates requests in a timely manager
- Working with the Business Development to respond to pitches
- Profitability and scenario modelling for partner requests
- Maintaining profitability & rate models
- Ensure Timekeeper rates are up to date and correct in system
- Managing the annual rates increase process
**Billing**
- Conduct Monthly meetings with Partners and PAs to review current WIP (Work in Progress) & Debtors (Accounts Receivable) ledgers
- Comprehensive follow up of action items from Partner meetings, such as time transfer, time write off, dispatch of billing guides, disbursements, queries etc
- Administering and processing of bills in Elite 3e ensuring time and disbursements are accurately charged and allocated
- Administering and processing of bills for Peerpoint ensuring time and disbursements are accurately charged as per instructions
- Providing analysis of financial information in support of bills, i.e. hourly schedules, disbursements and narrative breakdowns where required
- Ensure compliance with Global Tax Regimes, e.g. GST, Withholding tax, Corporate Income Tax, Value-added Tax etc.
- Ensuring all E-Billing requirements are met for invoices
**Collections**
- Communicate with partners to ensure they are across their outstanding debtors
- Resolve outstanding debtors with partners and clients in line with firm processes
- Liaise with external counterparts to follow up payments
- Escalating of aged debt to Partners, other finance team members
