Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Uniting NSW & ACT Full time $100,000 - $118,550 per year

Capital Works Officer – Leichhardt, NSW

Full-time | Permanent | Based in the vibrant Inner West of Sydney

At Uniting, we're not just building and maintaining spaces — we're creating environments where people can live, work and thrive. Our Capital Works team ensures our properties reflect the dignity, safety, and care we provide every day.

We're looking for a Capital Works Officer to join us at our Leichhardt office, right in the heart of Sydney's vibrant Inner West. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives on detail, is highly organised, and enjoys seeing projects through from start to finish.

The Role

You'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our annual capital works and refurbishment program. This includes project coordination, contract administration, financial reporting, and stakeholder communication — all with a focus on delivering quality outcomes on time and on budget.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Coordinating project deliverables and providing accurate reporting to stakeholders.
  • Managing contract administration and project costs to ensure financial close-out.
  • Preparing resourcing and financial reports to support project capitalisation.
  • Maintaining the Capital Works SharePoint page and reconciling project expenses.
  • Supporting the Head of Capital Works with administration, scheduling, and financial processes.
  • Promoting safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all projects.

About You

You're someone who thrives in a busy, project-driven environment and has the skills to balance priorities while maintaining a high standard of detail.

You'll bring:

  • At least 3 years' experience in project coordination/support for complex projects (ideally in occupied properties or the care sector).
  • Strong understanding of project delivery support and financial resource management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience implementing quality systems and a working knowledge of WHS and compliance.
  • An understanding of IT, communication, and security systems within buildings (advantageous).

Why Work at Uniting?

At Uniting, we celebrate diversity and welcome everyone exactly as they are. We live our values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold — and we're proud to create inclusive workplaces where people feel they belong.

Joining us means:

Working on meaningful projects that directly support our communities.

Being based in Leichhardt, in the vibrant Inner West of Sydney.

Becoming part of a values-driven organisation, making a real social impact.
