**About the role**

We’re looking for a **Capital Works Manager** to lead the delivery of transformative property, building, and open space projects that bring our Community Strategic Plan to life.
As Capital Works Manager, you won’t just manage projects—you’ll lead a team that delivers real, lasting value to the community. From concept to completion, you’ll oversee the planning, design, stakeholder engagement, and construction of property/building projects and park/open space projects that enhance quality of life and support sustainable growth. This is your opportunity to drive innovation, champion best practices, and ensure every project reflects the needs and aspirations of our diverse community
**Key Responsibilities Include**
- **Lead with impact**: Manage a diverse portfolio of capital projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- **Drive strategy**: Translate community needs into tangible outcomes through effective planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- **Inspire excellence**: Foster a high-performance culture that values safety, equity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- **Collaborate and consult**: Work closely with internal teams, external partners, and the community to ensure transparency and shared success.
- **Champion compliance**: Ensure all projects meet legislative, environmental, and WHS requirements while embracing digital transformation and sustainability

**Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications**
- Degree in Project Management, Building, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline OR significant experience in the management of infrastructure delivery programs
- Significant experience in leading and managing multi-disciplinary project delivery
- Practical experience in the investigation, evaluation, design and specification of capital works infrastructure to relevant industry standards, codes and legislation
- Demonstrated financial management, procurement, contract and budgetary experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Understanding of or experience with the Australian Business Excellence framework or experience in development and execution of improvement initiatives or continuous improvement
- Experience leading and managing a customer-focused team
- Knowledge of and commitment to equity and diversity principles, work health and safety, ethical practice and acting with probity at all times
- Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
