The role Reporting to the Senior Departmental Liaison Officer, you provide a single point of contact in the Office of the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services and the Office of the Director-General for complaints and enquiries (verbal or written). The Departmental Liaison Officer also facilitates the liaison between the Office of the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services and the Office of the Director-General and the Hospital and Health Services or Department of Health, in seeking resolution to matters raised by members of the public.

**The successful personYou will have demonstrated**:

- High level understanding of Queensland Health's operations, policies, services and structures to enable the rapid identification of areas within the organisation.
- Strong ability to develop sensitive and practical responses to complex issues.
- Strong written, analytical and research skills, including issue identification and effective problem-solving skills.
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels and an ability to negotiate, build relationships, and manage sensitive matters within a large decentralised health service organisation influence stakeholders.

The Ministerial and Executive Services Unit (MESU) coordinates the flow of information across Queensland Health and externally to stakeholders in support of the Minister and Director-General. MESU also manages critical and emergent issues, incoming health inquiries and correspondence and customer feedback.
The Office of the Director-General is responsible for supporting the Director-General to coordinate the activities of the department at the highest level and ensure coordinated, comprehensive and accurate advice is available to the Director-General and Minister in relation to a range of executive government functions.
