The Purchasing Officer reports into the Demand Supply Planner and executes purchase requisition / order deliverables on direct inventory suppliers to support the ANZ business. By reviewing daily MRP outputs for all SKU’s, the Buyer executes the replenishment strategy of A, B & C categorized SKUs to ensure the timely receipt of inventory to support sales forecasts and sales orders. The Buying function is critical to executing MRP exception messages, ensuring what we purchase, at the correct price and on a timely basis to ensure inventory levels are optimized to meet inventory targeted levels. The role must also ensure we optimize inventory to control external warehousing costs to budget. Lastly, the function is responsible in managing item master management of buying parameters and where time permits, supporting the Demand Supply Planner on planning requirements.

**Individual Accountabilities**:

- Run weekly MRP & daily regeneration of MRP to generate the Purchasing plan
- Manage MRP exception messaging on a daily basis, collaborate with suppliers to optimize inventory levels to planning parameters
- For A class SKU’s where forecasts are uploaded, generate vendor schedules for supply planning. When signed off, share vendor schedules with suppliers..
- For B class SKU’s ensure POs are planned & proposed to re-order point based on lead times and consumption history. Work with the Supply Planner to reset re-order points on a timely basis.
- For C class SKU’s, ensure POs are ordered to SO’s, in alignment with the global inventory policy.
- With the Supply Planner & Master Data management team, manage Purchasing item master parameters to optimize inventory & purchase plans
- With master data management, manage item status (‘active’, ‘inactive’ or ‘discontinued’) to ensure accuracy of the Purchasing plan
- For each supplier PO released, ensure acknowledgment of the SKU, ETA, quantity & price
- Ensure PO & invoice pricing is maintained and where differences occur, escalate to Strategic Sourcing & ANZ Supply Demand Planner
- Monitor inventory levels and optimize the inventory and cash flow.
- Maintain appropriate KPI’s for Purchasing & inventory SLOB
- Automate where possible, supplier interaction, generation & release of source documents to suppliers
- Monitor past due SO’s and SKU accuracy on SOs, provide weekly report to drive the right change on SOs
- Support S&OP improvement process and maintain inventory integrity

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- 1-2 years’ experience in a similar Buying role
- Team based organizational skills, knows how the role supports the goals of supply chain
- Builds relationships while also being analytical to improve fulfilment & inventory outcomes
- Understands multi currency, local & overseas supply chains & MOTs to deliver best practice buying processes
