Talent Focus are seeking a Purchasing Officer for a leading manufacturer in Western Sydney If you're seeking a role that has growth opportunities long-term then this is the position for you.
- Full time permanent position
- Monday-Friday
- 38 hour week

**Role Summary & Purpose**
- To control a portfolio of purchased products to ensure adequate levels are maintained.
- The primary role of the purchasing function is to ensure the cost-effective provision and timely of daily raw material requirements in response to our customer needs, with a focus on maintaining acceptable inventory levels.

**Responsibilities include but aren't limited to**:

- Liaising with Internal and External teams
- Control of inventory levels by reviewing MRP; min/max levels; safety stocks
- Liaison with vendors on delivery dates and standard purchasing terms
- Review of SLOB to eliminate and reduce
- **Purchasing / Expediting**: Responsibility of the purchasing function is to ensure all daily and cycle purchasing requirements are actioned to meet our customer commitments in accordance with company and unit policy, together with review of same to ensure no stock shortages.
- **Inventory Control and Management**: Purchasing inventory shall be maintained at a minimum to cover supplier risk yet also to service our customer’s requirements. The COMPANY goal is to have mínimal inventory levels, while still meeting our customer service commitments.
- **Purchasing System Management**: Manage purchasing systems to ensure the recommendations from the systems can be relied on for guidance and decisions. If the integrity of the system is in question, investigate and recommend action.
- **Procurement**: Timely processing of request for new vendor set up.
- **Supplier Relationship Management**: _Support_ the National Procurement Function and recognise importance of supplier relationship in overall supply chain - ‘partnering.’
- **Operational Management / Operational Contribution**: Manage purchasing resources to effectively contribute to the organisational vision, mission and values and operational goals.
- To build businesses ethically and safely, to invest in people, to inspire customers through innovations, to deliver on our promises and to improve every day.
- To ensure adherence with all company policies, procedures and compliance standards and always operate with integrity.
- Create and manage forecast and purchasing orders
- Work within a team environment and liaise with team members.
- Use ERP systems including Titan and MS Excel for administration purposes including report preparation.

**Experience and Knowledge**
- 5 years previous experience in purchasing in complex manufacturing environment, with multiple SKUs, made to order environment.
- Systems savvy - Microsoft Office with advanced Excel (aptitude for pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
- ERP/MRP procurement systems
- Demonstrated working in a team environment with minimum supervision, showing initiative for priority setting, goal achievement and time management.
- Demonstrated meeting/exceeding daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual KPIs and targets.

**Education / Qualifications**
- Senior school certificate or Certificate III, Diploma preferred.
- Certificates in inventory/procurement e.g. APICS desirable.
