**The Role**
Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Program Officer supports the ongoing management of the department’s entry programs including (but not limited to) the Australian Government Graduate Development Program and the Australian Government Apprenticeship Program, a whole-of-government program administered by the department.
The Program Officer is responsible for supporting the program leads in delivering the entry programs, including:
- Coordinating the attraction, recruitment and selection, learning and development, and evaluation for the department’s entry programs.
- Administering the entry programs, including but not limited to:
- offers and onboarding
- relocation assistance
- facilitating induction
- overseeing program placements
- training facilitation
- event management (orientation, in-house training, networking events, completion ceremonies)
- budget management
- procurement and contract management
- Engaging with, and providing advice and support to, entry participants and their supervisors, including addressing or escalating concerns or issues as appropriate.
- Drafting correspondence, guidance materials and reports as required for recruitment and entry program activities.
**Skills and Capabilities**
We are seeking an individual with the following skills and capabilities:
- Human Resources experience
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and experience
- Experience in program and/or contract management preferred
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive focus on positive client/participant experience and outcomes.
- High level of cultural competency and ability to engage sensitively with diverse groups across all work activities.
- The ability to work collaboratively with other APS agencies to achieve whole-of-Government objectives.
- The ability to positively contribute to team culture and direction.
**The Opportunity**
This position is available to Ongoing Department of Employment and Workplace Relations and/or APS employees as a temporary transfer at level and/or a temporary performance (Acting) opportunity for a period of 12 months.
